Del Maguey San Jose Rio Minas, made with Espadin agave, seeks to embody the adage “You don’t find mezcal; mezcal finds you”. Its history starts when Ron Cooper visited a distant canyon, abundant with wild agave, to go deer hunting with friends. After many hours of walking, they eventually arrived at the village of Rio Minas, where Don Roberto handed them a half-liter plastic water bottle filled with a stunning mezcal. Its aroma of papaya and ripe peaches leads to a lightly sweet and floral palate.
