Herradura Tequila Añejo
Produced in the Mexican village of Amitan near Tequila, Herradura Añejo is a blend of modern/traditional distillation methods. Piñas are roasted in clay ovens, shredded by a mechanical roller, and fermented with local wild yeasts. Then, a double distillation precedes aging in American oak casks. Rich aromas of agave, chocolate, pineapple, and cherry mix with oak and vanilla. On tasting, this is a full-bodied tequila with flavors mirroring the nose, plus accents of cinnamon and caramel. Long and lasting finish features gentle fruit notes fading to a soft cinnamon, earth, and minerality.
